as usual rant and complain about scan followed by windows ruined it by rotating it :( it cropped it and warped it and all kinds of argh :( makes me want to cry :(
anyways now for the arty farty rant
this will of course be rambling and stoopid

I scanned this at the same time as 4 and there is no reason that this has not been uploaded although I have spent the last few days browsing da and pondering the fickle nature of the place and many that browse it. There seems little logic in whether an artist gets many views or gets none at all. I have come across many in the last few days with stunning work and little or no recognition. now this is not to say that an artist needs to be told something is good or whatever but it can help drive people on spurn them on to improve and create more. I often find that what people say helps determine whether I post more work or sit idly by and do nothing and I am sure this is true for others.
Also I have come across many who by some peoples standards might not be considered great but given time to practice and improve and the support of others on da could thrive.
I could also rant and rave about comments and lack of constructive comments or debate provoking or anything but it would be incredibly hypocritical as I often don't comment when I should and when I do I rarely say anything constructive so I guess I should practice what I preach before I preach it :P

Constructive Comment in 3..2...1...

Ok, here goes.  I really like the light and shadow of this piece, the contrast of smooth indentations on the rough brick make me wonder what caused this and how.  I'm not a photographer so I can't really comment on technical aspects of the piece beyond I like the foreshortening effect and the way the mortar is darker around the central brink.  I'm not sure if that is due to a filter you used in final processing or just a technique you used or whether it was just a natural discoloration... whatever it is it's interesting.   It would be cool to see this as part of a four part group where you use different filters to get different effects.
