A view across Key West

Ha ha.  Ok as a Florida gal this place has a lot of memories for me.  Both good and interesting.  Key West is a culture all of it's own, and no one leaves that island without a story to tell.  With that said there is something surreal about the houses which line Duval Street.  They are over 100 years old and yet just beyond the lush private gardens and quaint picket fences lie the evidence of modern civilization.  The red and white telecommunications tower, the solar panels to warm a pool on the roof along with the AC units are stark reminders that the island infamous for it's Coconut culture of laid back afternoons is still wired up and racing ahead into the 21st century.
